Completing the UEFA set and winning the world tournament
Conference League success and the expanded Club World Cup gave Chelsea two distinct international honours around a return to the Premier League top four.
Domestic recovery set the baseline
Chelsea finished fourth in the Premier League with sixty-nine points, improving on sixth place in 2023-24 and returning to Champions League qualification. That league result matters because the campaign should not be assessed only through knockout finals played in very different formats.
Enzo Maresca's first season required a young squad to balance domestic progress with a long European programme. Fourth place did not make Chelsea a title challenger, but it provided measurable evidence of improvement: qualification was secured through thirty-eight league matches rather than awarded by either international trophy.
A Conference League campaign with little room to hide
Chelsea won all six league-phase matches and entered the knockouts as the competition's highest-ranked side. Copenhagen, Legia Warsaw and Djurgården formed the route to the final, with squad rotation giving playing time to a broader group while expectations remained unusually high for the tournament.
That status created its own pressure. Chelsea had greater financial resources and European experience than most opponents, so progression was often treated as an obligation. Winning the competition still required negotiating away legs, responding to setbacks and finishing the final rather than merely possessing the strongest squad on paper.
The final changed after half-time
Real Betis led the Wrocław final through Abdessamad Ezzalzouli's ninth-minute goal. Chelsea reached half-time behind before Cole Palmer created two goals in quick succession: Enzo Fernández headed in the first and Nicolas Jackson completed the turnaround.
Jadon Sancho and Moisés Caicedo extended the score to 4-1. The margin makes the result look comfortable in retrospect, but the sequence was a recovery rather than ninety minutes of control. That distinction gives the final more value than a summary which jumps directly from favourite status to the trophy.
What completing the UEFA set means
The Conference League joined Chelsea's victories in the European Cup or Champions League, UEFA Cup or Europa League, and the discontinued Cup Winners' Cup. Chelsea thereby became the first club to win all four of those principal UEFA men's club competitions.
The claim is deliberately defined. UEFA Super Cups are separate one-match honours, while the Intertoto Cup and competitions for which Chelsea was not eligible should not be silently added or removed to improve a headline. Stating the scope allows the distinction to be checked against the honours archive.
The domestic season ended, but the football did not
The expanded FIFA Club World Cup began in June and finished on 13 July 2025. Chelsea advanced from a group containing Los Angeles FC, Flamengo and Espérance, then defeated Benfica after extra time before victories over Palmeiras and Fluminense.
A defeat by Flamengo and the extra-time round of sixteen showed that the route was not uninterrupted. The tournament also imposed an unusual calendar: new signings could appear, the domestic season had formally closed and players remained in competition deep into the summer. This article keeps that boundary visible instead of treating July as an ordinary extension of May.
A final against the European champions
Paris Saint-Germain arrived at the final after winning the Champions League and defeating Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-final. Chelsea nevertheless established the match on its own terms in the first half, using pressure and direct attacks to create space around the PSG defence.
Cole Palmer scored in the twenty-second and thirtieth minutes with composed left-footed finishes. He then released João Pedro for the third before half-time. Chelsea protected the 3-0 lead after the interval and became champions of the first expanded thirty-two-team edition.
Palmer's final and a collective tournament
Palmer's two goals and assist made him the decisive player in the final, and FIFA awarded him the tournament's Golden Ball. Chelsea also finished as the competition's leading scorers with seventeen goals, while goalkeeper Robert Sánchez received the Golden Glove.
Those awards should not turn the campaign into a single-player story. João Pedro scored both semi-final goals, Enzo Fernández supplied repeated assists, and the defensive record improved after the group-stage defeat. The final depended on collective pressure making Palmer's preferred spaces available.
Two trophies with different historical meanings
The Conference League completed a UEFA competition set; the Club World Cup established success in a new global tournament format. They belong together chronologically but answer different questions about Chelsea's history.
Neither should erase the fourth-place domestic finish or the uneven parts of the campaign. The strongest assessment is therefore layered: a league recovery, a European competition won from a position of expectation, and a world tournament won by defeating the reigning European champions in the final.

The 2024-25 season page records the completed league and cup programme, while this article follows the international sequence through 13 July. Results after that date belong to the next campaign, even where transfers and preparation overlapped.
Making the cutoff explicit prevents later knowledge from being projected backwards. The honours were complete at publication; claims about whether the team would become a sustained domestic challenger remained unanswered and are not treated here as historical fact.
