Editorial accountability

Change log

A public record of material changes to sources, definitions, correction handling and the structure of the archive.

Manager comparison indexing review

  • Promoted the substantive manager comparison tool from utility noindex status into the searchable archive.
  • Added interpretation guidance, source disclosure and one controlled archive advertisement.
  • Kept retired record URLs, internal search, the superseded timeline URL and the error page excluded and ad-free.

Organic search growth edition

  • Rebuilt the managers, honours and season hubs around clearer search intent and factual opening answers.
  • Published source-backed all-time scorers, appearance makers and Chelsea-in-Europe pages, and expanded the records hub.
  • Added normalized club-record and European-final datasets, stronger internal discovery, and registry-generated extensionless redirects.
  • Rewrote search snippets and opening answers for the first-month opportunity cohort without creating duplicate-intent pages.

Controlled advertising placements

  • Enabled four responsive manual ad units for mid-article, end-of-article, archive/main-page and homepage placements.
  • Kept AdSense enabled on fourteen source-led research articles and ten substantial main/archive pages.
  • Kept individual season studies, profiles, trust, utility, error, retired and memorial pages ad-free.

AdSense review hardening

  • Retired the external live-news feed and removed it from navigation and discovery files.
  • Limited advertising to seven source-led long-form articles; season studies, profiles, hubs and trust pages are ad-free.
  • Added a public author profile, visible linked bylines and section-level citations on monetized research.
  • Updated hosting rules and production checks to prevent soft 404 responses and consolidate /index.html.

Editorial depth and source review

  • Substantially expanded the 2003 ownership-transition and 2024–25 international-trophy articles with fuller chronology, context and interpretation.
  • Reworked all four rivalry histories into long-form accounts with page-specific official sources.
  • Expanded the retained Peter Osgood and Ray Wilkins profiles with career chronology and contextual analysis.

Archive expansion

  • Consolidated routine season, manager and player URLs into complete source-linked archive hubs.
  • Retained expanded standalone studies only for selected landmark seasons, managers and players.
  • Added era, records, institutional-history, major-match and rivalry articles.
  • Created a single indexing and monetization registry, production identity gates and stricter validation.

Profiles and season histories

  • Added season-specific editorial records, review dates and source identifiers.
  • Expanded manager and player coverage and added the supporter-culture feature.

Historical records review

  • Cross-checked the season table, manager spells, honours and player selection.
  • Recorded asset provenance and publication configuration requirements.
